Predominantly 1980s-2000s housing across the Hedge End / West End / Botley belt. Family-scale rear gardens, decent plot sizes (eight to fifteen metres deep typical). Good balance of established and newer streets.

Working the area

Twenty to twenty-five minutes from the studio via the M27. Regular work in the broader area.

Material decisions

Full studio palette suits Hedge End well. Family gardens often benefit from clear hardscape zoning — a defined entertaining surface, a usable lawn area, planted boundaries. Often the brief is "one resolved zone, not three half-finished ones."

In practice

The studio archive doesn't yet feature a Hedge End project. Garden composition, Warsash 2025 — also family-scale, also planned around clear zoning — is the closest reference build.
