A Segensworth garden built around family life, not maintenance. A new Kandla Grey porcelain patio anchors the space, three inspection covers cut and recessed flush into the surface, and the existing black limestone paving deep-cleaned and relaid true around the artificial lawns. Polar Ice decorative stone runs the paved edges throughout, tying the whole garden together.
The brief.
A Segensworth family wanted a garden that worked harder for less effort: somewhere to entertain without a weekend of upkeep behind it. The existing black limestone patio had dulled with age and needed proper attention, and the rest of the garden needed a material and a layout that would tie the whole plot together.
The brief was low maintenance without looking low effort: a new patio built to the same standard as the rest of the garden, artificial lawn that stays green without a mower, and the existing hard landscaping brought back to the standard it was laid to.
What we built.
The main patio is laid in Kandla Grey porcelain, run as a single surface that frames the artificial lawns either side. Three inspection covers sat inside the working area, so we fitted recessed trays at each one, cut and fitted with matching porcelain inserts so the covers read as part of the paving, not a patch bolted on top.
The existing black limestone paving around the property was deep-cleaned back to its original finish and relaid true around the perimeter of the artificial lawn areas, correcting joints that had crept out of line over the years. Polar Ice decorative stone now runs the paved edges throughout, front to back, pulling the new porcelain and the revitalised limestone into one considered scheme.
A low-maintenance garden built for actual use: barbecues, evenings with the family, and paving that doesn't ask for a weekend's work to keep looking right.
